European Tryst: Ich Bin Ein Berliner!

Our train to Berlin was lovely and we mostly slept the whole way. Me being the trust map holder that I am got us to our hostel (which was awesome!) and we set out to see Berlin! We went to Potsdamer Plotz and saw the modern architecture that is the Sony Center. It was a pretty neat building and we past by some cool lego stuff on the way. The design was pretty neat and definitely felt very urban and very different from what I had seen in Germany thus far. After grabbing dinner there we headed to a bar that was recommended in my travel book. It turned out to be pretty neat! There was sand all over the floor and they played beachy music. I tried a Schneider Weizen beer (whoop!) and had some Dju, which was a Passion Fruit flavored African beer. It was so yummy!

The next morning we decided to take the 'free' walking tour of Berlin. It ended up not being free but you paid at the end, whatever you feel the tour is worth. I wish they wouldn't advertise it as free though...annoying. The tour was great though! It took us all over East Berlin and our guide was very informative and entertaining.
